Angie and Jesse 101

Angie and Jesse's love story, while epic, had its fair share of complications. Need a refresh on all things Hubbard? Here's a play-by-play of their history:

1981
Street kid Jesse arrived in town to live with his uncle, Frank Grant. He quickly befriended Jenny Nelson and the two bonded over their mutual hatred of snooty Liza Colby.

1982
It was irritation at first sight when Jesse met Angie Baxter: He thought she was a snob, while she decided he was a punk. But they couldn't deny their attraction and were soon dating. Their romance was put on hold when Liza falsely accused Jesse of raping her. When the charges were dropped, Angie and Jesse faced a bigger obstacle: Her father, Les.

1983
Angie told Jesse she wouldn't have sex with him until they were married. Young and impulsive, the two eloped. Weeks later, Angie found out she was pregnant. Angie thought Jesse didn't want children, so she divorced him and planned to give her baby up for adoption. Angie gave birth to a boy just as Jesse found out about the pregnancy. He told Angie he wanted to raise their son together, but Les already gave the baby up for adoption. Angie and Jesse tracked down their son and kidnapped him from his adoptive parents. They named their boy Frankie, after Jesse's uncle. The two remarried and started life on the run.

1984
The lovebirds were found and Jesse was arrested. Despite this, the couple sued for custody of Frankie and won. Jesse got a loan from a shady guy named Murray in order to buy a nightclub, The Steam Pit. Jesse couldn't pay back the loan, so Murray took over the club. To make ends meet, Jesse began singing with a rising star, Yvonne Caldwell. Yvonne had eyes for Jesse, while his half-brother Eugene longed for Angie.

1985
Eugene and Yvonne schemed to split up Angie and Jesse. Eugene set up Jesse for a robbery, casting doubt in Angie's mind. Yvonne openly flirted with Jesse, then seduced him. When Angie found out, she asked for a separation. Eugene attempted to force himself on Angie, but was thwarted by Jesse. Jesse proved his innocence and healed his relationship with Angie by making her realize she was his one and only. Angie prepared for medical school and was sexually harassed by her instructor, Dr. Voight.

1986
Angie reported Dr. Voight, but he managed to dodge any charges. Angie feared her career as a doctor was over before it could even begin, as Voight took his revenge by making her internship a living hell. Jesse helped his wife find another victim of Voight's harassment, and they managed to take the dirty doc down.

1987
Yvonne returned to town, very pregnant. She claimed the baby was Jesse's, but he swore it wasn't true. Yvonne eventually admitted to Angie she lied about her baby's paternity. Yvonne planned to give her child up to a black market baby trafficking ring. Jesse, now working with the police department, went undercover to expose the ring. He was shocked when he discovered the head of the organization, "Mr. Big," was actually his father-in-law, Les! Jesse confronted Les and the two struggled over a gun. As a result, Les accidentally plummeted to his death in time for Angie to witness all. Distraught over her father's death, Angie blamed Jesse. The two separated and Angie grew closer to Dr. Jeff Martin, who admitted his love for her. Jesse was still in Angie's heart and after she thought he had been killed, admitted the depth of her feelings to him. The two reconciled.

1988
Jesse was shot in the line of duty. He died in Angie's arms.

1989-1991
Angie mourned Jesse. She began dating Cliff Warner and the two got engaged, but he broke it off because of lingering feelings for his ex-wife, Nina. Angie juggled proposals from Cal Cummings and Derek Frye before deciding to move to San Francisco with Frankie.

1993-1995
Angie and Frankie moved to Corinth, PA (setting of the ABC Daytime drama, Loving). Angie developed a type of anemia and nearly died. She met police officer Charles Harrison and the two began dating. Jacob Foster, who bore an uncanny resemblance to Jesse, came to Corinth to settle an old score with Charles. Angie and Jacob developed an attraction, but she still married Charles. Later on, Angie and Jacob began an adulterous affair. Charles and Angie divorced, which allowed Jacob, Angie and Frankie to move to New York City and start a new life.

1995-1997
Angie opened a free clinic in Manhattan (setting of the ABC Daytime drama, The City). She learned she wouldn't be able to have any more children, and fought with Jacob over her desire to adopt a young white child, Kayla. Jacob and Angie married and adopted an abandoned infant, whom they named Cassandra.

1997-2007
Angie and Jacob eventually divorced and parted as friends. In 2001, Frankie briefly moved to Pine Valley to continue his medical career. We learned that he had a child with Mia Saunders. The boy, William, had been given up for adoption years earlier.

2008
Angie and Jesse return to Pine Valley--and viewers get a reunion twenty years in the making.
