Brooke finds Edmund studying a picture of Maria as he prepares for the Crystal Ball, creating an uncomfortable moment. Opal arrives with Hank to help with preparations, as does Vanessa and Palmer, and Vanessa and Opal end up exchanging barbs. Opal shares her concerns for Palmer at the hands of Vanessa with Hank, and Hank does his best to comfort Opal, while Vanessa slips away and seduces the chauffeur. Mateo appears to anger Edmund when he arrives at the ball with Simone, but when the two men step outside, they drop the act and speculate that David may be Proteus. Meanwhile, Anna takes note of Roger's eagerness to do David's bidding, and David warns Anna that she is playing a dangerous game when she probes him about Roger. Anna vows to uncover David's hidden agenda, and David promises to consider her an enemy if she continues to take that road. At the same time, Greenlee and Leo swap their memories of the previous night. Greenlee remembers Leo apologizing profusely, and Leo remembers Greenlee begging for forgiveness. Leo decides that they must list each other's most irksome qualities in order to get past them, but the couple ultimately decides to simply overlook each other's faults when the lists become too long. |
