Mia snuck up on Ryan as he ordered a drink at a roadside bar. Mia told Ryan that the drink was on her, but he pushed her away. Mia asked Ryan what he was doing in such a bar if he was only interested in corporate gals like Liza. Ryan said that it used to be a good place to be alone. A persistent Mia ended up forcing a kiss on Ryan in an attempt to escape a guy wanting to collect on a bet. Mia told a stunned Ryan to play along, and he defended Mia when the burly guy threatened her. Ryan anticipated a fight with Mia's unwanted suitor, but Mia grabbed the keys to Ryan's Harley and ran out. Upon hearing his motorcycle start, Ryan rushed out and the two escaped.
At the park, an angry Ryan questioned Mia, and she explained that she had beaten the guy in poker. When he refused to pay up, she stole the money from him. Mia said that she didn't want Ryan beaten up because of her. Ryan wondered what Mia was doing hanging out at that bar anyway. Mia admitted that she was lonely and merely wanted to buy a nice guy a drink — unfortunately, nobody fit the bill. Ryan then watched Mia walk away.
Greenlee pulled away from Jake's kiss. She wondered if Jake would feel bad if she just used him to get over Leo, and Jake said that he just wanted to take it one step at a time.
Greenlee and Jake ended up making love, despite Greenlee's unresolved feelings for Leo.
Meanwhile, Laura ordered Leo to go to Greenlee because deep down that's what he wanted. An angry Leo told Laura that she didn't know what he wanted, and he was disappointed that she had no faith in him. Leo and Laura's heated argument over Greenlee was interrupted when Laura couldn't catch her breath. A recovered Laura agreed that it was unhealthy to keep bringing up Greenlee. Further, Laura told Leo that he must decide how he feels about her as a survivor and not as a tragic figure. Leo exclaimed that he loved Laura and they embraced.
Liza employed blackmail in order to gain control over Colby's upbringing. Liza threatened to tell the court that Adam slept with the judge to save JR if Adam didn't deed her full custody of Colby. A reluctant Adam took some comfort when Liza admitted that she still loved him, but she reminded Adam that he had a power and control addiction. Furthermore, Liza stated that if Adam wanted their marriage to succeed, he must submit to Liza's terms. A trapped Adam accepted. However, Liza doubted that they would still be married in six months.
