Brooke Lynn is the daughter of Ned Ashton and Lois Cerullo. Fearing the effect a life with Quartermaines could have on her daughter, Lois took Brooke Lynn away to grow up in Brooklyn with Lois' side of the family. Recently, Brooke Lynn came into town under the guise of a runaway.

Dillon Quartermaine found her singing while hiding out at L&B records. When Brooke Lynn's mother hired a private detective to look for her, she and Dillon ended up escaping from him. Dillon then found out that she was in fact his cousin, not a stranger. Lois then came to Port Charles to claim her daughter.Dillon and Georgie found out that Brooke Lynn had run away from her mother because she was pressuring her into a music career. Lois knew that she was a beautiful singer and wanted to capitalize on her talent. Brooke Lynn finally told her parents the truth that she was feeling pressure to be something that she wasn't. Ned agreed to allow Lois to run L&B if she promised not to take advantage of Brooke Lynn.
