Georgie is the youngest daughter of Frisco and Felicia Jones. When her mother Felicia, went off on another adventure with Luke Spencer, her step-father Mac sent she and her sister Maxie away to live in Texas with their grandmother. When Felicia came back to town from her adventure, Mac sued for full custody of the girls, but ultimately dropped the suit. When Georgie and Maxie come back to town, they were taken hostage by Luis Alcazar, but Felicia rescued them and took their place.

It has been difficult for Georgie growing up in the shadow of her older sister, Maxie. For awhile, Georgie had a crush on her cousin Lucas. But he actually was interested in Maxie who was too busy dating other boys and getting into trouble. One night Maxie decided to have a party at the Scorpio house and Georgie desperately wanted to go so she made up a guy that she planned to bring to the party as her date. When Lucas and Maxie didn't believe her, she went to Kelly's where she was forced to pull a random guy into a kiss to cover up her lie when Lucas and Maxie walked into the diner. This random guy turned out to be Dillon Quartermaine.

Dillon and Georgie ended up hitting it off and quickly became close. But Georgie who was not over Lucas yet, used Dillon to practice kissing. One night when Lucas was mad at Maxie for going out to a party, he kissed Georgie. But her excitement was quickly deflated when he told her it was only to get Maxie jealous. She felt like she just couldn't catch a break until Lucas asked her to the prom. Georgie planned a big night where she rented a hotel room for them so she could lose her virginity on prom night. Dillon desperately wanted to stop her so he brought Maxie to the room just as Georgie was coming on to Lucas. Georgie was crushed again when Lucas told Georgie he just wanted them to be friends.

Dillon and Georgie continued to grow closer, but Mac still did not approve of Dillon. They came up with an idea to run away together but their trip was short lived when Mac busted in on them in their hotel room and took them back to Port Charles.

To help keep the girls out of trouble, Mac insisted Maxie and Georgie be candy stripers at General Hospital. When Georgie realized that her school work was being affected by her relationship with Dillon, she decided they should cool it down for awhile. But they just couldn't seem to stay away from each other and they finally decided to consummate their relationship. But their romantic night in a hotel room was quickly ruined by an angry Mac who sent them both home. Georgie then decided that they should make a pact that they will wait six months to have sex.

Alcazar's niece came to town and became a threat to Georgie when she took a liking to Dillon. Alcazar hired Dillon to be her "babysitter" which made Georgie even more jealous than ever even though Dillon insisted he only loved her. In desperate need of a plan to keep Dillon safe from working for Alcazar, Georgie made a deal with Tracy that Georgie will break up with Dillon in exchange for Tracy forcing him to cut his ties with Alcazar. Reeling off of Georgie breaking up with him, Dillon went to Sage for comfort and ended up losing his sacred virginity to her. When Georgie walked in on them in bed together she ended it for good with Dillon.

With Maxie's help, Georgie hired "Tom" to pretend to be her boyfriend in exchange for her helping him with his homework. Tom, Georgie, Dillon, and Sage ended up almost dying in the Port Charles Hotel fire. When they survived, Georgie and Dillon declared their love for each other again.

When Dillon was hired to direct his first video for L&B, Georgie took on the role as mediator between him and the diva singer, Ashley B. Dillon then told Georgie about a beautiful mysterious voice he heard singing at L&B. The run away singer turned out to be Dillon's cousin Brooke Lynn.
