Experienced, talented and successful are just a few words to describe soap veteran Jed Allan, who now plays the manipulative yet good-hearted Edward Quartermaine on General Hospital.
Jed has been acting for over 50 years and has accumulated an extraordinary resume. He has guest starred in numerous television shows, which include CSI: Miami, five years on Beverly Hills 90210, Walker Texas Ranger, Six Feet Under and Lassie. His previous starring roles in Daytime include Port Charles, Santa Barbara and Days of our Lives.
Jed's father was a professional musician, so it was evident Jed would also be interested in the arts. His initial dream was to become a musician like his father, but instead fell in love with acting. After studying theater in Washington in 1958, Jed came back to New York and began acting on Broadway. He eventually headed out to Hollywood, where he landed multiple television and movie roles.
His notable film credits include Ice Station Zebra, Brenda Starr and most recently Carman the Champion.
In his free time, Jed enjoys traveling, golf, sailing, playing music (piano and banjo) and spending time with his family. He resides in Los Angeles.
