Mike Corbin lives with the regret of abandoning his son, Sonny Corinthos, as a child. He feels that his leaving pushed Sonny into his current dangerous profession. Mike's efforts to re-build a relationship with Sonny often backfire as he pushes too hard for his still skeptical son.

Mike has had a very checkered past although he does seem to have settled down a bit lately. Always looking a quick buck, Mike enjoys poker games and betting at the horse track.

Mike is the co-owner of the Recovery Room.

Mike Corbin is Sonny Corinthos and Courtney Matthews' father. Luke Spencer hired Mike when he first came to town to work at Luke's Club. Mike left his wife and son when Sonny was a young boy. When Mike and Sonny were first reunited they had a difficult time. Sonny resented Mike for leaving his mother to marry Deke, who turned out to be abusive towards Sonny and his mother.

Sonny and Mike finally came to an understanding and tried to live peacefully as father and son. Mike became little Michael's godfather when Carly asked Jason to act as his father.

Mike has had many dalliances with women in town. When Chloe Morgan needed to be married in order to get her inheritance, she asked Mike to marry her Aunt Gertrude because once she was married she would no longer have control over Chloe's company. He agreed but once he figured out how crazy she was, he decided he couldn't go through with the marriage.

Another relationship he got himself into was with ex-prostitute Tammy Hansen, but eventually it sizzled out and Tammy left town.

Mike has always had a weakness for gambling. At one point Mike got into some trouble with a loan shark who coincidentally was employed by Sonny's enemy Joseph Sorel. Because Mike didn't pay the loan, Sonny's life was in danger. So Carly stepped in to help, but of course her plan backfired. She and Sonny ended up having to get married so she wouldn't have to testify against him.

A woman from Mike's past came into town, Janine Mathews with her daughter Courtney. Courtney recognized Mike as her father which of course surprised Sonny that he now had a half sister.

Mike now manages Kelly's diner.
