I'm currently finishing up my last year at Llanview University --which would've been wrapped up as scheduled in May had I not fallen victim to an incapacitating case of mononucleosis. Not only did it prevent me from completing my coursework in marketing and strategic management, it deprived me of Valedictorian status I worked so hard for over the past three years (I'm graduating early thanks to an abundance of AP credits from high school).Though Jessica Buchanan is worthy of that honor, I'm pretty sure my GPA was a couple tenths of a point higher than hers in February -- and my last semester would've been a cakewalk (Advanced Macroeconomic Theory, Key to Keynes, Badminton).

I won early acceptance to Wharton and was slated to begin classes in September but (you guessed it) the mono made a mess of those plans. Instead I'll be taking a seminar at the London School of Economics in the fall and interning at JP Morgan Chase in the spring. Wharton wants me so bad they've deferred acceptance until 2005.

In the meantime I'm helping out with the construction of the new Love Community Center in the Angel Square neighborhood of Llanview, PA. LU President and fellow Honor Committee member Viki Davidson approached me about joining the core team responsible for the planning and building after she learned of the academic predicament my health problems had mired me in. The opportunity to foster stronger bonds among the University, entrepreneurial and neighborhood activist communities was too good to pass up. In fact, the Community Center Project is the subject of the essay I wrote that won my entry to the seminar I'm taking in England next month. LU's economic journal has posted it online.
