Nashville, TN – October 22, 2013 – Seven-time GRAMMY winner Taylor Swift announced this week that she will perform a very unique version of her hit single “Red” on this year’s CMA Awards telecast. The all-star performance will feature special guests Alison Krauss, Edgar Meyer, Eric Darken, Sam Bush and Vince Gill. Taylor is nominated for six CMA awards, including Entertainer of the Year, and the show airs live on November 6th on ABC.

Taylor’s album RED, released a year ago this week, has sold more than 6 million copies worldwide to date. Over that same year, Taylor played to 1.3 million fans in sold-out stadiums and arenas across the U.S. and Canada on her blockbuster The RED Tour, which heads to Australia and New Zealand next month. On Monday, Taylor added a Feb. 7, 2014 RED Tour date at Berlin’s O2 World to her previously announced 2014 five-show UK leg of the tour at London’s O2. Taylor plays the O2 in London on Feb. 1, 2, 4, 10 & 11.

RED sold more than 1.2 million copies in the U.S. in its first week, scoring the highest first-week sales debut of any album in over a decade, had the 8th largest first-week debut in chart history, and marked the 2nd biggest sales week ever for a female artist. Taylor is the only female artist in music history (and just the fourth artist ever) to twice have an album (2012’s RED and 2010’s Speak Now) hit the 1 million first-week sales figure. With RED, Taylor became the first artist since the Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at #1 with three consecutive studio albums.

In addition, Taylor released a brand-new song on iTunes this week, “Sweeter Than Fiction” -- from the upcoming Weinstein Company film ONE CHANCE. “Sweeter Than Fiction,” which MTV lauds as “masterfully crafted” and Entertainment Weekly calls “uplifting” and “addictive,” reached #1 on the iTunes Country chart, and Top 5 at iTunes over-all in more than 20 countries around the globe within hours of release, including the U.S., Brazil, Canada, Sweden, Singapore, the Philippines, Argentina and Lebanon.

Taylor wrote and co-produced the song with Jack Antonoff from the band fun, and the track appears on the ONE CHANCE original soundtrack album, released this week by Sony Music -- Taylor appears courtesy of Big Machine Records. The Weinstein Company will release the film theatrically in New York and Los Angeles on December 27th. A video featurette accompanies the song’s release and is available at: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/weinstein/onechance/.

Taylor herself first shared the news of the song’s release exclusively with fans, using a surprise announcement on Twitter (@taylorswift13) in the hours leading up to the song’s iTunes posting. Taylor tweeted that, “Something I’m really excited about is happening very soon! Maybe even as soon as tonight!”, then announced the big news and posted a link to the song on iTunes.

Taylor is nominated for five 2013 American Music Awards, including Artist of the Year.
