Commentary from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Executive Producer / Writer & Musician Jed Whedon:

Watching the cut of Episode 4, I was surprised to find that post
production had placed a song of mine in the episode (no I do not put
my own songs in my own TV show though if it’s a web series I am not
against it and who am I kidding I did that on Dollhouse but that was
to save money for vfx I promise).

The song is Bad Son from my album History of Forgotten Things. I
wrote the lyrics a while back with my good friend and long-time music
collaborator Nick “Goose” Gusikoff, who also plays electric guitar on
the track. It features backing vocals by my stunning wife Maurissa,
violin by the equally attractive but not-really-my-taste Amir Yaghmai,
and a spoken word section written and performed by my brother Zack –
also handsome.

Goose and I played music professionally for about twelve years after
college. Our band The Southland could be seen as the headlining act
in small bars or the opening act in big venues for a few of those
years. Now I can be seen sitting in a writer’s room talking about
“the days when I was on tour” and then realizing that I’ve become THAT
guy. A few years back I started recording on my own, and History of
Forgotten Things is the first fruit of that labor. Enjoy.
