Hector Tontz is a young man who has lived life on the fringes of society and has made bad decisions just to survive.
Richard Cabral has joined the cast of Blood Father starring Mel Gibson, a Taken-style action thriller that will be directed by Jean-Francois Richet, best known for helming Mesrine. The film will begin production in May in New Mexico. Scripted by The Town‘s Peter Craig, it follows "John Link" (Mel Gibson), an ex-con who reunites with his estranged wayward 16-year old daughter to protect her from the Mexican-mafia who are trying to kill her. Cabral, will play the role of "Joker" who is a tough enforcer for the Mexican-mafia.
Coming up in March 2015, Cabral can be seen playing the role of Hector Tontz in ABC’s drama American Crime from Oscar winner John Ridley. Previously, he was seen in a supporting role in The Counselor, directed by Ridley Scott. Richard also stars in Devil’s Ink opposite Zoe Bell (Oblivion), RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad), written and directed by Kenny Gage and Devon Downs. The story follows bikers, gangsters and felons from a tattoo shop in Los Angeles into corners of corruption and depravity. His other past credits include Chris Weitz’s A Better Life (Summit Entertainment; 2011), a supporting role in Rampart (2011) starring Woody Harrelson, a supporting role opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in End of Watch (2012), a supporting role opposite Dwayne Johnson in Ric Roman Waugh’s Snitch, HBO’s Luck, ABC’s Body of Proof and NBC’s Southland.
