Any moment with Felicity Huffman
Whether she was strong-willed Barb or on-the-verge-of-a-breakdown Barb, Huffman’s performance as the Skokie family matriarch was a powerful one. We scoffed when she sincerely asked “Am I a racist?” but also wanted to lend her a helping hand after she found out her husband Russ (Hutton) was dead and she was being shunned by her son, Mark.
Richelle Reaches Out to Barb|We can't keep burying this family.|After a distraught Barb insists they go their separate ways, she spills the contents of her purse in the parking lot. Russ Identifies Matt’s Body
Only five minutes into the season premiere and Russ’ bathroom breakdown after identifying his son’s dead body had hearts breaking everywhere.

Carter Gets Shot
After learning his girlfriend Aubry (Caitlin Gerard) took the fall for his freedom, it seemed that Carter (Elvis Nolasco) was on the verge of doing the right thing – whatever that might have been. Unfortunately, he never got around to doing so, getting shot point-blank on the street by Russ.
