But don’t look for the Johnson clan on the red carpet. Instead, they’ll be coming at you from a special promo airing during the award show telecast on Sunday, February 22.
The Johnsons will pay tribute to memorable dance moments from movies with young Jack Johnson—A.K.A. professional dancer Miles Brown—accepting his family’s challenge to recreate classic dance routines. Think Footloose, Flashdance and even Fred Astaire’s classic dancing-up-the-wall move from Royal Wedding.
But we’ve got to warn you, guys: little Jack is pretty freaking cute. So cute, in fact, that you may not be able to handle the pint-sized powerhouse’s sweet, sweet dance moves. Heck, it’s hard to resist his charms when he’s merely batting those mile-long lashes at you, as evidenced by Rainbow Johnson’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) near meltdown when he comes at her with an onslaught of cuteness in the "Crime and Punishment" episode of black-ish:
Bow Can't Spank Cute, Little Jack|Jack charms Bow into not wanting to spank him.|Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross) can't resist Jack's (Miles Brown) adorable ploys to get out of a spanking. She really shouldn't have looked into his eyes. "He's like the chupacabra," Dre (Anthony Anderson) explains. From Season 1, Episode 5 of black-ish, "Crime and Punishment." ABC WEDNESDAYS 9:30|8:30c.
So in order to prepare you for Jack’s out-of-control adorableness, here’s quick peek at what you can expect from this dancing dynamo come Oscar Sunday. Think of it as the warm-up before the cuteness marathon that will be Jack's dancing extravaganza:
Andre Jr.'s Hip Hop Bro Mitzvah|Andre Jr. gets his party but Dre isn't calling him Andy.|Andre Jr. (Marcus Scribner) gets his bar mitzvah, or, rather a "Hip Hop Bro Mitzvah." Dre realizes that sometimes keeping it real means admitting you were wrong, but as a dad, still being right. From black-ish Episode 101 "Pilot." ABC WEDNESDAYS 9:30|8:30c.
