Rebecca SAYS

Previous Quote

I hate that when I look at you all I see is lies. I don't get to remember that summer. I don't get to remember kindergarten field trips or Easter egg hunts in the backyard. I remember how you lied to me my entire life.

CHARACTER BIO

To say Rebecca Harper has grown up saddled with a boatload of issues would be an understatement. That said, we think she navigates through the Walker family drama quite handily each week!

Rebecca is Holly's only child. Growing up, Rebecca and Holly were close, but their relationship began deteriorating during Rebecca's late teenage years. At 16, Rebecca had an affair with an older, married man, and followed him to Chicago. But tragedy brought Rebecca back home to her estranged mother.

As a child, Rebecca never knew who her father was. That changed when she encountered Justin Walker and came to believe she was his half-sister, the product of her mother Holly’s decades-long affair with Justin’s father, William. After the initial shock, Justin reached out to her, and they developed a strong friendship.

Rebecca reconciled with her mother, who asked Rebecca to join the marketing team of Ojai Foods and its subsidiary Walker Landing Wines. Rebecca took quickly to the job and has since moved up in the company.

Holly and Rebecca later had another falling out when it was revealed that Holly had lied about Rebecca’s parentage—turns out Rebecca is actually the daughter of director/photographer David Caplan, and is not a Walker at all. Rebecca was furious with her mother for allowing her to get close to the Walkers—feeling as if she’d lost the family she came to love. Recently, Rebecca had the opportunity to spend time with David, who is once again seeing Holly and shares a passion for photography, much like his daughter.

The Walkers, however, weren’t ready to let Rebecca go, and made sure she still felt welcome among them even if they were no longer related. Eventually Justin and Rebecca’s strong friendship grew and they fell in love. Justin proposed marriage and Rebecca happily accepted. And once she and Justin say “I do,” Rebecca will finally be a true member of the Walker family.

MORE

ACTOR BIO

We watched this Canadian-born actress for four seasons on the WB’s Everwood. Naturally we’re more than thrilled to see her graduate to the hit ABC series Brothers And Sisters.

With an impressive body of work in both film and television, Emily VanCamp is quickly emerging as one of Hollywood's most sought-after talents.

VanCamp starred on The WB's critically acclaimed drama Everwood opposite Treat Williams and Gregory Smith. She portrayed Amy Abbott, the sensitive beauty who quickly steals Ephram's (Gregory Smith) heart.

Next VanCamp will star as Kate in the upcoming thriller "Carriers" for Paramount. The film, written and directed by Alex and David Pastor, revolves around four friends trying to escape a viral pandemic in the American West who discover that they are more dangerous to one another than any virus. The film also stars Chris Pine, Piper Perabo and Lou Taylor Pucci.

VanCamp recently appeared in "The Ring 2," costarring with Naomi Watts and Simon Baker. Other feature film credits include the Sundance Film Festival hit "Lost & Delirious," "No Good Deed," with Samuel L. Jackson, "A Different Loyalty," with Sharon Stone, and "Black Irish," with Michael Angarano and Brendan Gleeson. VanCamp also portrayed young Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the miniseries "Jackie O: A Life Story," and was a series regular on The WB series "Glory Days."

Born and raised in Port Perry, Ontario, VanCamp has been performing as a dancer since the young age of three. At 12, she moved to Montreal after being accepted into the prestigious L'École Supérieure de Danse de Québec, the official training program of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. It was when her older sister, Katie, also a dancer, was cast as a ballerina in a film that VanCamp fell in love with acting while visiting the set.
