Nikki led him wordlessly into her bedroom and set the candle on her dresser, in front of the trifold mirror, which multiplied its light. She turned to find Rook there, close to her, magnetic. She folded her arms around his neck and drew his mouth to hers; he wrapped his long arms around her waist and tugged her body to him. Their kisses were deep and urgent, familiar all at once, her tongue finding the depth and sweetness of his open mouth while he explored hers. One of his hands began to reach for her blouse but hesitated. She clutched it and placed it on her breast. The heat of the room was tropical, and as he touched her, Nikki felt his fingers ride the slick of perspiration above the dampness of her bra. She lowered her hand and found him and he moaned softly. Nikki began to sway, then he did, too, both doing a slow dance in some sort of delicious vertigo.

I love this book and am looking forward to a whole series! I've passed it around to several co-workers and they are now watching the series on tv. My only criticism is that the book should have been longer. Come on guys, give us a full length book next time.

I got my dad the book for Christmas and ended up reading it before him. I love the book. It was so fun to put the people in the book and see their faces. I am so excited for the next book!!!

I fell for the idea of ''FREE" also, and like so many other people, was sadly disapointed. But I feel like I beat them at their own game. I went o my local library and requested the book. It took several months of waiting, but eventually I got to read the book and didn't have to spend a dime!!!

This is a fantastic fun read! It is really easy to imagine it being Castle and Beckett and the hilarious exchanges between them. I read it in one night on my kindle! It was a good substitute for an extended episode, since there haven't been any new ones in a while!

this is the best book ever and i love it and the show is absolutely amazing and i love the way the show is and the relationship between Castle and Beckett and this show should come back for a thrid season and many more to come

I LOVE CASTLE! With all the other murder mysteries out there, this is such an awesome twist on how they figure out who the culprit is. The chemistry between Castle and Beckett is amazing also. I hope it has many more seasons to come!!!

This is a good story, but there are a few problems with the scene of Lauren and Heat sitting at the street-side table discussing work over drinks. At one point a person name Laura says something. Who the heck is she?? I can only assume it is Lauren, but that is an easy spot. The bigger hole in the story is when the author describes Heats actions, and says that she looks through the Plexi at the street seven stories below. How is she sitting up seven stories if their table is on the street? This kinda killed the story for me. I am interested in learning more, but am no going to go buy the book. It's not a "cant' put it down book". It seems really rushed, and paraphrases a lot of the story, in just explaining what happens. It is up to readers to unfold the story, not to be told how it goes. The author is making up my mind for me, instead of letting me go through the story on my own.

At the beginning of chapter six, it plainly states they are in a rooftop bar. Since she is looking down seven stories down, one can assume the rooftop is eight stories high. On page 109 she is talking to Lauren and since Lauren calls her Nic in the book, Nicky called her friend, Laur. Not laura. So maybe you can start reading the book again, I just finished it and it was a very simple enjoyable book, if you are a fan of the show.

This is the best show on TV and just love Nathan Fillion. Can't wait to read this book as thanks to Baby Mocha for the Amazon tip as anyway anyone can save money is a good thing.

I love this show… the chemistry, the episodes, writing, acting everything is amazimg… I just joined ABC.com just to support Castle… I’d love it if they continue the show…. The book is great hit too… my public library has over 150 holds on it…

Read the book and liked what there was. I think the book is a teaser for more to follow. Reminds me of an other series that the pilott was so good they did a book series on it Think it was about 1999 and they called the series Roswell High

I am so disappointed! I read 10 chapters of this book, loved it-and then nothing. But I will not buy a book that I have read so much of. Why not a teaser, say 25 pages-or a couple of chapters? However, I just love the show. And the sparks between Castle (he is so pretty!) and Beckett is so intriguing. I watch every week. thanks

I agree with you on this. Why post 10 chapters if you're not going to post it all. If you want a teaser then post just the first chapter! It irritated me enough that I won't buy it now - I'll wait and talk my local library into buying it.

I reeaaally love this show! I tried to get the novel at Barnes and Noble, and not only were they sold out, I was told that the entire first printing was sold out. I'll have to buy it online--I like an actual book to hold and read; not a computer screen. I'm totally looking forward to it.

I've been a Castle nerd from the very beginning! I'm still not sure whether or not I want to read this. I've built up Castle and his writing talents so much that I don't want to be disappointed (Hello, Breaking Dawn). Maybe I'll buy the book and see what happens.

I would read a few chapters online first before buying the book. I've read everything on here and, honestly, I don't think I would spend money on it. The writing is okay, but definitely not the best murder novel I've read. It's a fun read tho!

I love the series, and had NO idea it was a real book! Did the writers write it or the author? Since Nathan is doing a book signing it must be him, right? I heard the Storm novels are real too, I'm SO starting a new collection now!!

Dude - are you serious??? I'm not sure if you are kidding or not. If so, please learn the art of sarcasm. If you are not, you are an idiot. Castle is a TELEVISON SHOW. Richard Castle is not a real person. After the show became successful, TPTB at ABC said, hey, wouldn't it be cool if we "really" had a Nikki Heat book, like Castle talks about in the show? So they hired some writer to ghost the project as "Richard Castle." If you llook at the copywright notice for the book (or even the chapters printed online, you will see the owner is ABC Televison. Not "Richard Castle." If Nathan Fillion was signing books, it was to promote the show, not because he wrote them . While I am certain that Mr. Fillion is a man of many talents, he's not a novelist. The Storm novels ARE NOT REAL. "Richard Castle" a not real person wrote them. The stuff that happens on your TV IS NOT REAL (except, unfortunately the news). "Reality" shows ARE NOT REAL. There is no Santa Claus, Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy. Also, I would like to for your to invest in my Ponzi scheme.

This is my favorite (favourite, to you Nathan) show. When I get a moment to wind down, I check my recorded programs and if "Castle" is there I can't help but get a giddy rush. Loved the Halloween episode and even though I am telling my friends about the awesomeness of your show, I can't help but have a secret, greedy little "hog it to myself" feeling. I mean look what happened to Twilight? Now I have to go see the new movie with thousands of crazed junior highers. Selfish .. I know .. but yet .. oh so refreshingly honest haha

They must be using size 32 font for the book to be that big. I have enjoyed reading it as offered by downloading it, but I don't feel it's so good that I would purchase it, especially after already reading 10 chapters. What a copout and shame on them!

Where is Chapter 11???? Times are tough right now - and I have really enjoyed being able to jump on line and read this! Really love the show, think the book is a great promotional idea and frankly a great read....just please finish putting the book up on line - I'm sure you can fill the last several pages with advertising coupons to pay for the printing!

Why would they stop putting up chapters when they're more than half way through the book? And if they really wanted to leave us with a cliffhanger to make us buy the book, wouldn't they have stopped at the end of ch 9? They put up chapters for several weeks after the book was released. I understand why they would not want to put up the whole book, but seriously, if they've come this far they can't quit on us now! I'm going back and watching the first season and I love the references to the show in the book!

I love the show!!!! My boyfriend and I watch it every week. I ahd no clue the book was actually published until I saw it a Borders yesterday! I heard Nathan Fillion is doing a book signing in LA, but I don't live on the west coast and I would really love to have my book signed. Is there a possibility he can do a book signing in Charlotte, NC? Please come do a book signing in Charlotte, NC!

Loved it! Was a really fun , quick read-light but not dumb. I liked the way they incorporated event that happened in the show, as if Castle was using the material for his novel. This whole cross-promotional thing is very clever and hopefully a sign that the execs are invested in the show. I look forward to this show every week and mention it to people all the time--everyone should be watching this show! Keep 'em coming, 'Castle' and 'Castle novels'.
