Christmas Traditions with Castle

By Alexis Johnson | Dec 22nd, 2014

Happy Holidays! This time each year Castle shares many special holiday traditions with his family. See what's changed since he teamed up with the 12th Precinct 7 years ago and what wonderful parts of his family's traditions have stayed just the same.

Castle cares a lot about his family's Christmas traditions. You may have observed that as some people grow older they adjust their holiday traditions. That's not our Castle. In the scene from Secret Santa, you can see the moment his heart actually breaks when Martha and Alexis mention the news of their "other" plans.

But he's happy to integrate Beckett. Castle is excited to share this time of year with the woman he loves, but there's a problem. As anyone who's ever become part of another family knows, everyone already has their own set of traditions. In order to be together on Christmas, either Beckett or Castle would have to make a sacrifice. It's incredibly sweet when they both choose to.

OK, integration is a little intimidating for Beckett. Granted joining up in Castle's family holiday traditions isn't quite this intense (very nice, Ryan and Espo!), it does turn out to be a little more complicated than just stopping by for dinner. See what we mean in this scene from Bad Santa.

Lucky for Castle, Beckett puts her heart into becoming a part of his family and traditions anyway. How sweet is her poem in the scene below?! Whatever life challenges happen around them, we think it's a perfect Christmas as long as Castle and Beckett are always together.

Whatever your traditions, wishing you the happiest of holidays this season!
