A 9 and a 3 at a dinner for 2
A newspaper names Castle the ninth most eligible bachelor in New York. But in his interview, all he can talk about is Beckett. Despite his humorously unsuccessful attempt to hide all copies of the article, Beckett finds out about the story and is, of course, annoyed.
In order to refute the rumors that he and Beckett are a couple, Castle scores a date with the third most eligible bachelorette in Manhattan. Beckett, in turn, makes a date with a fireman friend of Lanie's. Both opportunely show up with their dates at the same restaurant. But they are so wrapped up in their police case that they end up leaving together—without their dates.
After solving the case, Castle and Beckett end their day to go on what might be considered a real date – just don't tell them that.
