I was so excited about Cougar Town! Inspite of the negative clips, I tivoed the show. I watched 4 shows back to back hoping it would get better. Instead it got progressively worse. With all of the sexy, beautiful, fit women in their forties, I thought this show was going to have a positive edge. it is a very negative depiction of women! I cannot believe a woman that has worked in the industry as long as Cox has would be a part of this show. I had a chance to catch her interview on a talk show and she revealed that MEN developed this show. No wonder! It makes sense middle age men would never support a 40 something woman in such a role. My suggestion is to hire FEMALE WRITERS!!! Even Hugh Hefner, who is well into his 80s is presented in a better light. Can you imagine if throughout his show it focused on all his aches and pains. I know plenty of fabulous 40 something women,who constantly get hit on by younger men. Trust me the attraction is mutual! By the way, most women these days are more fit than they were in their twenties (FYI flexibility should not be an issue). So, fire writers and maybe hire an actress who loves getting older and truly embraces it!
