Dancing with the Stars - 2011 Cast Announcement for Season 14
The spectacular celebrity cast for the new season of "Dancing with the Stars" for Season 14 will be announced later this spring. Be sure to return here to see who will be a part of the season and pick your favorites!
It's incredible how so many people out there can't let go of someone's past indiscretions or personal issues when we all have them in one form or another!! Most of us don't have a squeaky clean past, yet here is a man who has been able to mold a career for himself outside of the football field - Why is that? Because he keeps working hard and moving forward!
Mike is so charismatic and is full of personality that he will surely bring some FUN to the DWTS stage!! I met him and he bought me drinks at a bar on his way to LAX and he was just so generous and kind to everyone around him - what an interesting, funny guy he is! Bottom line is that all of you haters out there need to STOP being so judgmental, this world and life isn't mean to be a guilt-ridden one (so LET IT GO!)! Go Mike, he's going to be the reason I watch this season!!!
I'M A HUGE DALLAS COWBOYS FAN SO IT'S GOING TO BE FUN TO SE MICHAEL IRVIN DANCE HE WAS A GREAT PLAYER SO I'M SURE THAT HE WILL GO ALL THE WAY!!!! GOOD LUCK!!! MICHAEL...
I guess I am always still confused as to how people feel that an athlete should be a role model for their child. Don't you think it's time that PARENTS stood up and were role models for their children?? Athletes are paid to do a job, their job involves playing a sport. I for one am a TOTAL sports fanatic and feel that the ONLY thing an athlete should be judged for is how they perform their job, and that evaluation should come from their boss NOT THE PUBLIC! NOT on their personal lives. It's also my opinion that those that are so quick to jump on the faults of those that are public figures are simply jealous they either weren't good enough to make a team or they are so miserable they have to spew their venom wherever they can. It's not anyone's place to judge another person, unless of course you can say you are absolutely perfect meaning you have NEVER broken a law or rule in your entire life and good luck with that one! As for someone cutting to the front of a line... I have to tell you that I find it astounding every day to sit and watch "regular folk" that play stupid cut to the front of a line, place an order and go "oh was there a line" so it's not only public figures that do this don't you know how important everyone thinks they are these days?
Go Michael, thank you for all the memories your talent on the field has given those that are true fans. No one said you had to be a perfect person, I hope you come to this with the fun and enjoyment that it is intended to provide. I, along with so many others will be anxiously looking forward to your debut.
Lawrence Taylor did NOT live up to his billing...you're right, Salsa. But who didn't LOVE to watch Warren Sapp and Jason Taylor? WwoooHoooooOooooOO! I think Michael Irvin has the bravado that dancing requires.....his broadcasting experience will DEFINITELY help him with DWTS. Most football players never appear on TV without a helmet and pads...and Michael clearly has broken out of that mold. I think he'll get loose!
There is a lot of pressure on the football players, and LT was not Emmitt. So again it will depend on who he is paired with and if he is light on his feet like Jerry Rice and has the passion like Emmit he might be okay to watch. Pressure LOL
I realize his reputation is not stellar - but am not aware that he has been convicted of anything anymore that Tom DeLay has been at this point in time. He is an egomaniac however - my son-in-law was standing in line at a fast food place at the Dallas Airport quite a few years ago and Michael and is entourage came up to the place and simply walked to the front of the line and ordered as if they were so very special they had rights to immediate service while the peons stood in line and waited for their turn. I guess that is what important, rude, egomaniacs do.
My daughter had an encounter with Michael Irvin in the Dallas Airport as well. She was flying to Oklahoma with a new baby, diaper bag, luggage, etc., and he came up to her and helped carry her things to her next flight. Thank you, Michael, for being the gentleman you are.
It's sad how America thinks people like this is ok to celebrate. He was a drug user, (may stil be) he is is argonaut, this man (if you can call him that) has no class. He ever stabed one of his own teammates when he was a Cowboy. He has not earned the right to be on this or any other show. What are we trying to teach the young kids!!!!!!
We are trying to teach the young kids that anyone, no matter what their background, can learn to love to dance. We can all use a little of that love in our lives. Take Steve-O. He was a weirdo and a druggie, but sweeter than candy on DWTS. Everyone deserves a second chance.
So glad another Cowboys is going to be on here...haven't watched for a few seasons because no one I liked was on. Go Michael! Oh by the way, I like someone else's suggestion about getting Troy on here, too!
I love this show but the producers have really disapointed me with this guy. He should be in prison serving out drug and domestic violence charges..Have you all forgotten? Cowboys money is the only thing that saved his butt. Yes he was a good, if not great, football player. As for a broadcaster, he was one of the worst I have ever heard. Every week he demonstrated his ingorance. One of the most inarticulant people I have ever heard. I hope he is gone the first week. Come on judges, 1s and 2s!
I have seen him dance he is good! He has a great chance of wining...if he can beat Donny Osmond who seems to be the odds amker favorite right now.
GO COWBOYS!!!!
He will be a strong personality on the show. He will get votes based on his Dallas Cowboys background. Hopefully he will earn them with good dancing. He is a good addition to this cast.
I won't vote for druggies and jailbirds. That said, I think Michael Irvin will go a long way. NFL stars tend to stick around a long time -- longer than they should -- because of their NFL identity.
I love football, but!!!! From the tone of the comments below, the football player history will have Dallas Cowboy fans (and maybe other team followers too) voting for this guy. Hopefully he'll be a great dancer.
I loved Warren Sapp.
I loved it when Emmett Smith and Jerry Rice were on, so here's hoping Michael Irvin will have a good time participating on this show and the viewers will appreciate him.
I detested him and everything he DIDN'T stand for while he was playing football - both college and pro. He is a jerk and an egomaniac. I hope he falls flat on his face...literally!
I did not like LT being on the show and even though i am a HUGE Cowboy fan I would rather another past cowboy be on. Sorry but drug usage is not something positive I want to show via my show. I know everyone deserves a second chance but come on......
Get Troy on here
Well, I'm tickled to see Donny do it. He was so supportive of Marie.
But football players always do REALLY well on here. I start out with no particular favorite, and in a few weeks I'm voting for the football player! They are HOT!
I'm speachless, This show, this season will be retitled The Dancing with the Stars Little Horror Show. Oh - Boy I can,t wait. _ _ _ _ I won';t say who but one of the JUDGES is going to be real happy Irvin wears a size 17 nike, and you know what that means.
I totally agree,,,,, why another left footed football player, I know why you can't get any real stars, you get maybe 2 or 3, then you got to fill up with whoever you can get. Its not fair to the professional dancer that gets stuck with them.
I was looking forward to the new season until I got to Michael. Can not stand him, do not want to watch him and listen to his mouth. Michael is not a good role model. He wasn't when he played football and he isn't now. Trouble seems to follow him all the days of his life. The mentality of the Cowboy fans will be to vote for him because of who he is and if he can dance or not. Not a fan of him or his former football team. Bad choice!
Just because you don't like the Dallas Cowboys, I believe it is very inappropriate to bring your hatred onto this venue. Fottball is Football and Michael Irwin may have had some troubles in his younger days, but he really has changed his life, and it is for the better!
We are Dallas Cowboys fans and a huge Michael Irvin fan. He is huge and it will be fun to see the pro's work with his size. I think he will do great. GO MICHAEL
Hey, too man unknowns this time! But this one man - Michael Irv in will save the show. He's the greatest and I look so forward to watching him !!!!!!!!! HE'S MY MAN THIS TIME !
Go for Troy Aikman next time or Bruce Smith (new NFL hall of famers) recently along with Michael Irving. This guy will save your show. I don't like the fact there are so many unknowns and 1 or 2 "has-beens". See if you can full more like Michael in the next time. OK? Thanks !
