DWTS knows what they are doing... good choice to have Mya on the show... hope she does very well.

Hope she gets voted off early for scamming us by pretending she doesn't already dance.

I hope I will get more excited when they begin to dance. I love the show but am not thrilled with the new contestants. Good luck to all the dancers. I will miss Juliann. She, Derrick, Max and Mark are my favorites and two of them will be missing.

Sorry--too much dance experience. There is a difference between a singer learning a bit of choreography and an actual dancer. America wants people who LEARN to dance as the show goes on. Why do you think we voted Sabrina Bryant off? Same thing--she dances for a living.

There's a big difference between the type of dancing singers do & ball room dancing. I don't know that this will be an advantage for her. It could be a hindrance instead. Good luck, Mya!

You know, Drifke...HOW DO YOU KNOW WHO HAS NO CHANCE TO WIN?!?!? Give me a break...who would have thought that Ty Murray could accomplish what he did last season??? Give me a break. (I won't even comment on the "too old" or "too overweight" comments...they just come from ignorance). Finally, DWTS cannot exclude people based on the fact that they have some dance experience...then they would elimiate EVERYONE who has EVER sung or acted....the majority of those folks have danced at some point. When someone has a career in the arts, dancing comes along with that. BALLROOM dancing is a totally different story! What you are suggesting is ludicrous...to bring on people that are young, skinny, beautiful, and have NO RHYTHM...come on.

I LIKE MYA AND ALL BUT COME ON, ARE THEY SERIOUSLY GOING TO PUT HER UP AGAINST THE REST OF THEM. SHE IS A PROFESSIONAL DANCER, SHE TEACH DANCE AT HER OWN STUDIO AND SHE TOOK DANCE LESSION UP INTO HER SINGING CAREER. THIS IS TOTALY UNFAIR TO THE OTHERS....

Mya all the way. She's got the looks, style, personality, coordination. Everything.. I want to see some real dancing, not just a bunch of klutzes being led around on the dance floor. I don't recall any set rules on dancing background, it is just understood not to be trained in ballroom. Kristi Y. dances on skates to long routines with big time dance background as well as gymnast Shawn Johnson.. What do you think they do in the floor exercises, ballet , jazz to the hilt. Then there is Melissa with dance and cheerleading, Mel B, Cheeta Girl, In Sync guys, Donny, Marie, Lil' Kim, . I know there are more just can't remember who. No one ever said anything about them.. Mya Mya Mya... she'll be the winner!

Just because she has danced doesn't mean she has an "unfair advantage". Ballroom dancing is a different discipline. Give the lady a break. Personally, I've never seen her or heard her music, but she deserves a shot. She probably wants a chance to plug her charity. Nothing wrong with that. I've often thought that DWTS would get more A list performers if there was a cash prize to the charity of the star's choice. (Think Celebrity Jeopardy.)

I think that having people on the show that have some form of dancing talent is wrong because they have an advatage over the ones who don't...when the cheetah girl was on she was good but she shouldn't have been on.

Oh she's always been a dancer. This should be somewhat more easy for her then anyone else.

I think Mya will go far, she is in the music business and I think she will be a very good contestant, just curious to see who she gets paired with

i think mya is going to rock the house down if you ask me but will see alot of surpise always happen with dancing with the stars i know mya could rock i have seen her performes and she could dance very well and singing is going to be interesting to see the new season can wait i love this show so much i wish i was there.

This is about Ballroom dancing, Mya is not trained in ballroom. Hip Hop, Jazz, and Tap are totally different. Ballroom is more strict. Yes she may have an advantage, but if you noticed from past seasons like Sabrina Bryan who we ALL knew could dance, got picked a little bit even tho she was a front runner in the competition. So it doesn't matter if she can dance already. If they aren't trained in any of the ballroom areas (rumba, waltz, etc..) then they could compete.

Mya is an excellent choice. I saw her in the movie 'Shall We Dance" and felt that she was so talented. I hope she is paired with someone like Max because I believe she can go far in this competition. The other competitors aren't really that impressive. I guess it's a wait and see situation.

I have never heard of her, but in reading her resume, it appears she may have an advantage with the Latin numbers. We will see!!

Don't know her either. I've never seen so many contestants that are not well known.

This gal can sing and act and I will bet money she can dance too! Beautiful choice!

This is kinda not really fair since Mya is an awesome dancer anyway! Note the movies she's been in: Chicago, Shall We Dance, Dirty Dancing Havana Nights? All movies she danced in. She stole the show with the "He Had it Coming" number in Chicago. Love her!
