Week 3:

Tonight was the night a lot of us have been waiting for. After a couple weeks of classic structured dances and fast-footed play, finally... sexy was coming to the ballroom. But who was going to bring it?

Mya certainly brought it again. She's been solid from the beginning, and tonight she earned her second impressive 27 in a row. Steaming up the floor as well was Natalie with a sizzling rumba. But perhaps the sexiest couple of the night was Louie and Chelsie—their chemistry has been palpable since day one, and their bodies in motion together brought the audience to their feet. 

It was a romantic night, with a full moon and everything, and Kelly planted a great kiss on Louis at the end of their samba. But that didn't compare to Donny's smooch with Bruno!

Tonight saw the first 10's of the season—two of them, both for Mya and Dmitry's smooth, sultry rumba, from Carrie Ann and Bruno. Len, who returned from his week off, ("Bad news, Grumpy's back," he announced) wasn't feeling it and gave them a mediocre 7. Len's scoring was particularly critical and tough tonight—he gave two 4's  and a bunch of 5's and was usually the lowest score of the three judges all evening.

Tom DeLay danced on two injured feet, and though he got some sympathy, he also got low scores. Joining him at the bottom were Michael, Debi, Chuck and Mark. It's clear that charm and sympathy aren't enough to keep people around this place much longer. And someone else is going home tomorrow.

Highlight of the night:

Natalie Coughlin. Before tonight, this Olympic swimmer often seemed stiff and self-conscious. But in her rumba with Alec, her athleticism gave way to hot, rhythmic passion. Her confidence, with a little tutored help from Edyta (Alec's wife), brought the house to its feet. And the judges agreed, giving scores of 9, 8, and 9.
