Next week is the finals. Tonight we find out who won't be there. But first...

Mya and Dmitry reprieved their perfect-30-earning Salsa from the night before. Len still couldn't stop gushing. And early on we learned that Mya was safe. Not too surprising, considering her stratospherically high scores. Joanna & Derek, however, were in jeopardy.

The star-studded night was filled with amazing singing and dancing peformances, as well as an unexpected music video starring the Final Four. Demonstrating the pressure they were under as they came to the final week of competition, they lip-synched their way through Queen's "Under Pressure."

We were also treated to a behind the scenes look at what the Pro Dancers go through each week, rehearsing and choreographing all the group and pro dances in addition to their duties as trainers. They're a really tight bunch, and they bicker, but they clearly enjoy dancing together—and apparently they love the chance to ditch their novice partners and really push it to the limit with the other pros!

Melissa Rycroft, former competitor from last season, returned to rehearse and dance with Tony Dovolani once again. And, oh, Donny and Kym were declared safe.

Which brought us to the nailbiting end. Either Kelly or Joanna were going home tonight. Both had impressed the judges tremendously. And both had earned very committed fans in the viewing audience. Alas, the viewer votes for Joanna were not enough to keep her in the competition.

Going into the finals next week are:

Donny Osmond & Kym Johnson,
Kelly Osbourne & Louis Van Amstel
Mya & Dmitry Chaplin

But first, tonight, Joanna & Derek end the evening dancing their beautiful Viennese Waltz (which scored three 9s the night before) to "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley.

And then they're off to talk to Jimmy Kimmel.

Highlights of the night

A stirring performance from the upcoming movie Nine. Singers and dancers from the musical performed "Be Italian."

Alicia Keys sang "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart" from her new album, accompanied by four of her dancers.

British pop star Leona Lewis sang her hit "Happy" with an octet of great dancers.

Barry and Robin Gibb, the surviving members of The Bee Gees, took the stage to sing their classic "You Should Be Dancing." The brothers are celebrating 50 years of performing as the Bee Gees.  Joining them on the dance floor were Pro Dancers Artem & Cheryl and Tony & Chelsie. And re-joining the DWTS ballroom was former contestant Melissa Rycroft,  partnered with Tony once again, and holding her own with the pros.

Comments from He Said/She Said

"Sorry, Karl, your girl Joanna is out of the competition leaving Donna, Mya and Kelly in the final 3. This is a close one, I think it's anyone's game at this point!" -- Meg

"This is kind of hilarious. A music video spoof to Queen's Under Pressure? (Love it that Tom Bergeron just said, "apparently lip-syncing skills aren't needed to make a music video...") ZING!" -- Karl
