03/28/16 | TV-PG | CC

As the first elimination of the season loomed large, the stars took to the dance floor once more with each celebrity performing either a rumba, salsa, samba, paso doblé, cha cha, or Argentine tango on Latin Night! Which stars shined on this hot, hot night and who had to say an early goodbye? Let’s find out!

Jodie Sweetin & Keo Motsepe performed a Samba to “Bun Up the Dance” by Dillion Francis &Skrillex. With flames shooting skyward behind her and a bare-chested partner beside her, Jodie got things off to a hot start. All of the judges agreed that she was better than last week, but there are still moments where she tenses up. It was good enough to get three 7s from the judges.

Marla Maples & Tony Dovolani did the Argentine Tango to “Don’t” by Ed Sheeran. Bruno was impressed with Marla’s bodywork, but wanted her to get down and dirty without holding back. Carrie Ann disagreed feeling the elegance of the dance suited her perfectly. Len felt the dance was clean and polished even if it lacked a little bit of intimacy. The judges gave her scores of 7-6-7.

Geraldo Rivera & Edyta Sliwinska did the Salsa to “Ran Kan Kan” by Tito Puente. The Donald was in the house for Geraldo’s unique routine. Carrie Ann did laugh during the performance and felt there was some improvement. Len used the word “trumpery” to describe the routine. Bruno said it was impressive for all the wrong reasons. Geraldo admitted that he was going for the laughs with his routine. Unfortunately, there was no chuckling with scores of 5-4-4.

Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas were slated to do a Salsa to “Danza Kuduro” by Don Omar featuring Lucenzo. Unfortunately, Mark was injured so troupe member Alan Bersten jumped in to sub with just two hours notice. Len complimented Mark on the choreography, Alan on the pinch-hitting and Paige on the best dance of the season so far. Carrie Ann felt she destroyed the number. Scores of 8-8-8 prove just how impressive Paige was.

Antonio Brown & Sharna Burgess performed a Rumba to “Adorn” by Miguel. With some fellow football stars in the stands, Antonio attacked the dance with Sharna. Bruno and Carrie Ann appreciate the chemistry these two have with the latter, known as the “lift police” to many, caught them in a small violation. Len knows there’s a true dancer inside Antonio. The team earned scores of 6-6-7.

Kim Fields & Sasha Farber did the Salsa to “Conga” by Gloria Estefan, who actually sent the team a personal message to let Kim know that she’s rooting for her. Talk about inspiration! Kim’s foot got caught at one point. Carrie Ann caught it as did Len, but they both felt it was a decent dance. Bruno advises her to never let them see that she made a mistake. She has the ability to cover minor gaffes. The judges dished out scores of 7-6-6.

Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd did the Rumba to “Stole the Show” by Parson James. The beautiful, flowing routine had the crowd gasping throughout and cheering when it was done. Len felt the dance was too hectic. Nyle needs to calm it down. Bruno wants Peta to help Nyle with his lines. As for Carrie Ann, she thought it was stunning but there was a lift as Len also pointed out. Scores of 7-6-7 from the judges.

Mischa Barton & Artem Chigvintsev did the Cha Cha to “Pata Pata” by Miriam Makeba. Trying to put Len’s Week 1 comments behind her, Mischa did make a few mistakes, but Carrie Ann said she did much better. Len feels her nerves get the best of her. He advises her to go for it more. Three 5s from the judges give Mischa a total of 15 for the night.

Von Miller & Witney Carson did the Cha Cha to “Ain’t Too Cool” by LunchMoney Lewis. Von survived a week of heavy fines from Witney for various violations of her training policy, to hit the dance floor with style and flash. Nevertheless, the judges were only mildly impressed. Len felt the routine was a bit like a taco. The judges’ scores: 7-6-7.

Wanya Morris & Lindsay Arnold did the Salsa to “Echa Pa’lla” by Pitbull. Wanya said he wasn’t going to bring his A-game. Instead, he was gonna bring the whole alphabet. After a week of training in multiple cities, the team wowed the crowd with their routine. Len was full of praise and Bruno loved Wanya’s smooth moves. Carrie Ann called him “King of the Ballroom.” Three 8s tied the team with Paige.

Doug Flutie & Karina Smirnoff did a Paso Doblé to “Buster Voodoo” by Rodrigo y Gabriela. The team was looking to step things up from a so-so showing in Week 1. Bruno felt it was like watch Spartacus and the Dancing Gladiators. Carrie Ann declared that Doug is now in the game even with a weird, walking move. Len agreed the dance was much better than last week. The judges scores: 7-6-7.

Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy did a Samba to “Sorry” by Justin Bieber. They wrapped up the evening in fine fashion with a fast-moving routine. Carrie Ann knows there was a slip-up in the middle, but Ginger never let it show. Len praised the team for doing the proper steps unlike some of the other pairings. The team scored three 7s from the judges.

At the end of the night, it was time for the first elimination of the season. Mischa, Geraldo and Doug were all in the bottom three, but when all the votes were in, it was time for Geraldo to exit the ballroom. As for the rest of the cast, they’ll be back to celebrate each star’s Most Memorable Year MONDAY APRIL 4, 2016 on ABC!
