Dancing with the Stars Style: The Cha Cha

  • By Micheline Goldstein

The Cha Cha, originally from Cuba, is a cheeky, lively and flirtatious dance. It's light and bubbly, with a catch-me-if-you-can atmosphere. Here are some of the fashionable outfits the DWTS costume department selected for the stars throughout the years.

Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy - Season 10

Erin Andrews, with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, shows off her dancing skills in a neon yellow fringed dress that's perfect for the movement of the Cha Cha.

Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough - Season 16

Season 16 champion Kellie Pickler wows in a sparkly silver bodice with a fringed skirt while partner Derek Hough wears a classic all-black look.

Kristin Cavallari and Mark Ballas - Season 13

Kristin Cavallari's black and silver fringed dress is perfectly complemented by Mark Ballas's black suit decorated with studs.

Gleb Savchenko and Lisa Vanderpump - Season 16

Gleb Savchenko dances with reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump, who shows off her moves in this pink sparkly one-piece dance costume.

Elisabetta Canalis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy - Season 13

Elisabetta Canalis demonstrates her flexibility in a separate top and and flowing red skirt while partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy sports a matching red Letterman jacket.

Alexandra Raisman and Mark Ballas - Season 16

Alexandra Raisman's bright pink costume ensures all eyes are on her as she Cha Chas with partner Mark Ballas.

Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel - Season 10

Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel are in perfect sync as they infuse their Cha Cha with a fashionable Disco look.

Buzz Aldrin and Ashly Costa - Season 10

Buzz Aldrin and Ashly Costa's Cha Cha is out of this world! Ashly wears one of the few fringe-free Cha Cha outfits, but her loose dress still shows movement.

Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess - Season 16

Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess perform a red-hot Cha Cha in Season 16. Sharna's skin-tight suit is a departure from most other Cha Cha costumes, and Andy snazzes up his black shirt and pants with red suspenders and a red bow tie.
