Semi Finals time!
Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough – Argentine Tango – (30) I love love love a good Argentine Tango! This dance had me captivated from the beginning! The quick footwork, the legs, Kellie’s flexibility….everything! There was no denying from any of the judges that this dance was perfection! That is a dance that is Finals-worthy!! Wheeww!
Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough – Flamenco – (28) Ummmm….W-O-W!! I didn’t know what to expect with this dance – I’ve never seen it before. But Derek put his genius to work, and this dance was magical. And I LOVED that last move, where Derek flipped her to the ground! Very cool!
Ingo Rademacher & Kym Johnson – Samba – (24) Ingo had his work cut out for him – and I say that only because the other 4 competitors left have consistently scored higher than him this entire competition. BUT! Ingo has a huge fan base, and you don’t have the be the best dancer to make it to the finals in this competition. This was a great Samba – we’ll have to see if it was enough to carry him to the Finals though…
Ingo Rademacher & Kym Johnson – Charleston – (27) What a fun dance! The Charleston is much more suited to Ingo! He has the perfect personality to pull off a dance like this, and Kym did a great job with the choreography. He needed this dance tonight, and I’m so glad he was able to pull it off!
Aly Raisman & Mark Ballas – Rumba – (30) Aly has grown so much in just a few short weeks in this competition. I definitely give her the Most Improved award. She broke out of her shell around Week 6, and she has not slowed down since. She’s absolutely peaking at the right time! This dance was so beyond what an 18 year old girl should do, and she nailed everything about it!
Aly Raisman & Mark Ballas – Afro Jazz – (29) I am out of breath just watching this! This was non-stop the entire time – and it was done at warp speed! Being a gymnast, this dance couldn’t have been more perfect for her. This was amazing!!
Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff - Argentine Tango – (30) Jacoby has been consistently great throughout this competition – even though the judges don’t always agree. His energy and charisma is matched by non other. You don’t even notice that his technique isn’t perfect, because his performance is so far above perfection. Keep those perfect scores a-coming!!
Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff - Lindy Hop – (29) If you know me, you know I love me a Lindy Hop! So much fun to watch! He looked like he was just flinging Karina around out there – he’s so strong! And again, his personality reigned again! He’s such a character, and I can’t imagine a Finale without him in it!
Zendaya & Val Chmerkovskiy – Quickstep – (25) Welllll….honestly, I was expecting a little more from Zendaya. She’s been so strong this whole time, and she seemed a little flustered with the Quickstep. Val seemed to be carrying her throughout the dance. But maybe she was just preoccupied with the upcoming Hip Hop – the best is yet to come….
Zendaya & Val Chmerkovskiy – Hip Hop – (30) Well, we all expected it to be great! She looked amazing – and this looked like a pro number! I think this dance was exactly what we all thought it would be – perfection. Is it fair that Zendaya has such extensive Hip Hop background? Who cares…the audience picked this for them! And this was why – we all wanted to see this!
It was a big night on the dance floor tonight! Only one more round in the competition, and then a new winner will be crowned! Who do you think was Finals-worthy tonight?!
