Amy Purdy "Doing Okay" Following Injury on Dancing with the Stars' Latin Night

By Steve Dove Apr 29, 2014

Following her live rumba performance with partner Derek Hough, paralympian Amy Purdy injured her back and had to go to the hospital to be checked out. But while she was unable to perform the live team dance last night—the judges critiqued the dress rehearsal footage and awarded the team 39 out of 40!—she was still able to do a live Twitter Q&A with fans from the hospital and give a few updates on her condition.

As we walked away from the judging table my upper back cracked & went into pain but I'm in good hands #PurdyHough #dwts

Hopefully Amy will be cleared to dance again next week. The competition has begun to take a physical toll on several of the remaining contestants with Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy having some bumps and bruises and Danica McKellar fracturing a rib during their rehearsals. You can see the dress rehearsal footage of their team dance right here!
