"Dancing with the Stars" Honored for Accurate Portrayal of Military Veterans

By Steve Dove | Jun 25th, 2015

Military veterans organization Got Your 6 announced that Dancing with the Stars was "6 Certified" along with a handfull of other shows including Modern Family and films including American Sniper. Got Your 6 began the "6 Certified" initiative earlier this year to highlight film and television that accurately portray veterans and the military, and help to break stereotypes and misconceptions. Dancing with the Stars was honored "for featuring Noah Galloway, an Army veteran and double amputee whose 'No Excuses' attitude challenges common misconceptions of veterans as broken."

Noah reached the top three during Dancing with the Stars 10th anniversary season with partner Sharna Burgess. Here are some of his most inspiring performances!

Noah and Sharna touched everyone with this Contemporary routine that had judge Len Goodman calling for a standing ovation!

It may not be a dance, but Noah made Dancing with the Stars history when he proposed to his girlfriend during the Semi-Finals—and she said "Yes!"

Noah's journey came full circle when he performed his Freestyle during the Finals with Sharna, earning a perfect score from the judges!
