The Glitter Report: Week 7 - Latin Night

  • By Jim Donnelly

It was Latin Night and Ricky Martin was in the house as both a performer and guest judge. The effects of a grueling season are beginning to take a toll on a few of the stars. Danica broke a rib during rehearsal and Amy was injured after her routine. That doesn’t mean there weren’t lots and lots of highlights during Week 7 of Dancing with the Stars including the always exciting team dances!

Dance of the Night: Meryl and Maks came off their first perfect score to turn in another stellar routine. This came after a week of pain-filled rehearsals. You’d never know anything was wrong after seeing their slick, spirited salsa which was the dance of the night.

Steamiest Dance of the Night: James and Peta. 'Nuff said.

A Little Help: Even though Candace Cameron Bure has been in front of cameras since she was a little girl, it doesn’t mean she’s immune to a case of the nerves. She ends up doing what everyone should do when they need a little help, they actually get some.

Are They or Aren’t They?: Are partners James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd dating? This isn’t the first time we’ve asked this question. Now we can officially say that we still have no idea. They sure make for a fine couple on the dance floor either way.

Team Vida: The names came about to honor guest judge Ricky Martin. This first team consisted of NeNe & Tony, James & Peta and Charlie & Sharna.

Team Loca: This group consisted of Danica & Val, Candace & Mark and Amy & Derek. Amy’s back cracked to the point where she was having trouble breathing. She had to be taken to the hospital and was unable to participate in the team dance. The rules stated that the judges could view her dress rehearsal tape to help determine her score. So, here it is!

The Quotes Are In:

Len (to Amy after her rumba): “You lit my fire out there.”

Ricky (to Amy after her rumba): “I felt a lot of things.”

Bruno (to James after his samba): “What are you doing tomorrow?”

Ricky: (to Charlie after his paso doble):  “I was living the moment and I was fine with you guys.”

Bruno (to Candace after her Argentine tango): “Great legs by the way.”

Bruno (after Meryl’s salsa): “Ricky, that girl, she bangs.”

Carrie Ann: “I’m waiting for my friend to boo."

Highlights of the Night: We had to say goodbye to fan favorite NeNe Leakes but not before she did a memorable Argentine tango with Tony. Now here’s a rundown of all the Latin Night routines as the six remaining teams continue their quest for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.
