1. Why do you want to be on Dancing with the Stars?
I wanted to be on Dancing With The Stars for three reasons... 1) I love to dance, I really do. I feel it's how humans exercise their souls. I also wanted to learn how to REALLY dance and I know myself, if I didn't do something drastic, like this, I may have just continued dancing like George Jefferson for the rest of my life. 2) Another reason I wanted to be on the show is to allow people an opportunity to get to know me better. I feel the public may have an image of me that isn't really accurate and it's my hope that by exposing my true self and where I am in my life that people will get to know the real me. 3) The final reason I wanted to be on Dancing With The Stars is because it is a fantastic hit show that people truly LOVE and despite the embarrassment I may cause my daughter, it's an honor to have been asked to participate. I hope that even Coco (my daughter) can learn to enjoy watching me blossom into a lovely dancing butterfly man.
2. Which dance style do you think is most "you"?
I'm a very romantic person at heart, so I like to think the Rumba is going to be the dance style that I may connect with most, even though I have a real problem moving my hips. Unfortunately my own personal dance style is more like watching someone being electrocuted.
3. What do you think is your biggest handicap to overcome if you're going to win?
My biggest handicap going into this competition is definitely my clumsiness. I have never been the most graceful person but hopefully my dance partner can tame this baby rhino. To my benefit I'm not beyond pulling a Tanya Harding if some professional athlete starts tearing it up.
4. Do you have a "Dancing" hero (for example a pro dancer or other Dancing star?) / Are any former DWTS stars an inspiration to you?
As far as dancing heroes go, I loved John Travolta in "Saturday Night Fever" and anything Fred Astaire was in, you can't really beat Michael Jackson and Bob Fosse. I think all the Stars from past seasons showed extreme courage - even Master P... It ain't easy for a gangster to do the Paso Doble.
5. Is there a particular dance/dance style that you most fear?
I have fear about learning all of the dance styles on the show but I don't plan on taking that fear onto the dance floor. I am thankful however that there isn't any tap dancing in the competition because I have the flap jacks for feet. Although if they were to throw a pancake breakfast I got ya covered.
