Back in Business
Season 5 | Episode 4 | Aired 10/19/08
When Bree's cookbook comes out, her friends are openly jealous. We wince to see Lynette's efforts to get back in the marketing game by aggressively pitching Bree on a "jazzy" ad campaign. At the luncheon to celebrate Bree's being named Businesswoman of the Year, Lynette drunkenly tries to offer more unasked-for advice so Bree asks her to leave. We're surprised when Bree admits that all her success has come at a high cost if it means losing her friends. Lynette assures her, "All your friends are proud of you. Bitterly jealous, but proud."
Bree discovers that Orson has been fired from his post-prison job. He suggests that she hire him, an idea that doesn't sit well with Katherine. We laugh as Katherine tries to talk Orson out of the idea, describing Bree as "bitchy, tyrannical, shrill!" Without a yes from Bree, Orson moves into the guest bedroom and skips her luncheon. He moves back in when she offers him the gift of a chef's hat -- and a partnership in her business.
