The older man Mike's working for takes back his money and says he's hired a replacement since Mike hasn't produced any results yet in the search for his daughter, Dierdre. The older man says he's going to die soon, and he's running out of time, but agrees to keep Mike on the case.

Bree has been seeing George non-stop in a bid to make Rex jealous. George surprises her with a special gift that has her speechless: an antique gun from World War II. She tries to teach him to shoot, but just as he's about to pull the trigger, he goes in for a kiss, she pulls away and he ends up shooting himself in the foot. She visits him in the hospital, where she learns he's lost a toe. He asks why she pulled away and she admits she's still in love with Rex. George says he still wants to see her, even if it's not romantic. She turns him down, saying it wouldn't be fair and he's crushed. Eating a solitary dinner in front of his TV, we see the video George is watching is one of Bree from the security camera at the pharmacy.
