DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES - "Chromolume #7" - Gaby and Angie head to New York in search of Danny and Ana, on ABC's "Desperate Housewives," SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET). While in the Big Apple, a chance encounter with supermodels Heidi Klum and Paulina Porizkova leads Gaby to an unexpected revelation about herself. Meanwhile, Lynette and Tom are in for a big surprise when Preston returns from Europe; Mike is determined to show Susan what a man he is after feeling emasculated; Bree discovers a shocking connection to her new employee, Sam; and Katherine is confused over her feelings for Robin. Susan sees Robin give Katherine a good-morning kiss and realizes that the two are now more than friends. Mike can't believe Katherine's a lesbian now and his masculine ego takes another hit when Susan tells him, "You were a good transition," citing how gentle Mike is and how he likes to cuddle. The real issue is that Susan paid off his business loan with the money from the sale of the strip club. He tells her, "I grew up with a father who wasn't there. I promised I'd always provide for my family." She tells him his attitude is "so 1956," but agrees to cancel the check.

Katherine asks Bob and Lee if one night with another woman makes her gay. Lee tells her, "You can't just change your main course from meat to fish," overnight. Katherine tells Robin it was a mistake and that their one night, "Doesn't count." Robin insists that they made a connection, saying, "It counted." "Okay," agrees Katherine after Robin kisses her.

Preston's mustache is laughably fake looking. He looks like someone's bad idea about what a guy would look like who'd been to Europe for awhile. Also, now we have two gay story lines on DH, just as there are two gay story lines in Brothers and Sisters. Does this represent the mix of the audience? Also Brothers and Sisters is currently revolving around a nauseating-looking guy playing Sarah's love interest. The parent from school who failed to light Sarah's fire was much more appealing. My point is that the people who are coming up with the stories and picking out the actors and the way they look and act on these ABC shows are in my opinion not picking out what heterosexuals like and it is turning me away.

She probably is a gold digger, but I think she's with Preston for something else. She can't be THAT dumb to think that a boy just out of high school is rich and loaded with millions of dollars. He is too ugly for her. There's something else there, that is probably obvious to us viewer's but we're to blind to see what it really is. Is she a run-away? a hit-woman? There's another story there! Just gotta wait it out!

Lynette's character is always savvy and perceptive. This girl woud appear to be a gold digger, but if it ends up that's the only story line then shame on the writer's. Preston is only in high school And he was allowed to travel around Europe by himself? The real story line should be why would parents of a new high school graduate allow him to go to Europe by himself? That alone is a big problem and hopefully being permissive parents will be discussed on one of the shows. If the girl is a gold digger it would be boring. If the girl has Russian Mofia connections and is trying to get away from Rssia for that reason, that would be lame but better than her being in love with a silly looking high school graduate, who has a bad mustache. PLEASE do something interesting with this character. Obvious and easily guessed plot lines is not why I watch this show. Go ahead and make the Russian more intereting than the boring kid. And please, keep Linette up to her old ways. She is the best character on this whole show. Sign me bored in Avalon

I am genuinely perplexed and disappointed with the latest episode. I have spent years building up an image of a successful hard-working and loving Russian girl. I am in law school, at the top of my class. I cannot believe Mark Cherry would make the gold-digger a Russian girl. Did he even have to say what her nationality was? Why reaffirm a meaningless stereotype? Is it just me or do Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Slovenian, other Eastern European girls, and even Western European girls not marry for money? What a ridiculous stereotype, Mr. Cherry. You have just lost a very loyal viewer. I hope you enjoy this Pyrrhic victory!

Desperate Housewives is a comedy/satire, not a dramatic offering to be taken seriously. It's full of stereotypes: the greedy, bitchy, beautiful Gaby; the clumsy, air-headed but lovable Susan; the emotionally rigid, ambitious and perfectionistic Bree. The major characters have all done some horrible things. Bree let a man die from an drug overdose instead of calling for help because she wanted to be rid of him. Her son Andrew killed someone in a hit-and-run accident and never took responsibility for it. Remember the delightful Applewhites who kept a mentally challenged son imprisoned in the basement (the other son had murdered someone). The list could go on and on. Being a golddigger seems pretty mild in comparison. Should I be outraged because this show portrays these *American characters in such a terrible light? What Pyrrhic victory are you referring to? The money Mark Cherry received from the airing of this episode vs losing you as a viewer? I think Mr. Cherry will be just fine.

I really like DH but the latest Episode is more than stupid. And it affirmed what all Europeans think about the education of the americans. First of all Preston was on a trip to Europe, and got a russian girl!? Russia isn't Europe, not politicaly. And second of all: Europe is richer, more whealthy and has a higher standart of living than the U.S. (The U.S. Dollar is like Playmoney to Euro). And even if a girl would be a gold digger; she would wouldn't try to dig a world traveling highschool boy from the american Suburbs. When i saw the episode all i could think about was how pourly education the writers must have been. Beste Regards Salvatore from Italy

Beste Regards Salvatore from Italy" Salvatore, if you are going to chastise someone for their lack of education, you should at least use correct spelling (politicaly, whealthy,standart, pourly, beste) and proper capitalization. "First of all Preston was on a trip to Europe, and got a russian girl!?" I guess you missed the part about Preston meeting this woman in France. Even we ignorant Americans know that Russians can travel outside their country. "And second of all: Europe is richer, more whealthy and has a higher standart of living than the U.S". Apparently you have disowned the Eastern European countries. Parts of Eastern Europe are among the poorest anywhere in the developed world. I believe this character is seeking to marry Preston to obtain American citizenship, rather than being after his money. Regular viewers of the show know that his family has been dealing with financial difficulties for some time.

You know for someone who is generally spot on in reading other people's motives to say Lynette is usually overly paranoid is unfair. That's not the truth about the history of the show (as if Lynette's' worries come from out of the blue and have no basis in reality). It would be more accurate to say she's surrounded by idiots who can't see what she sees.

I think she is a gold digger. She willl only be around for a few episodes before her son sees the light or the girl disappears after a confrontation with Lynette. I have absolutely no doubt that Lynette will give that girl a peice of her mind. It may cause problems between her and her son but it wont be the most dramatic thing going on in the episode!

GOODNESS! I must have miss the news..I know about Pluto being downgrade from a planet. BUT when did Russia LEAVE Europe? Russia has a tiny amount of land that extends into Asia. Most of Russia was in Europe and has the European culture not Asian. Why did they leave???? Is the USA going to leave North America because Hawaii , Guam , and the American Virgin Islands are in Oceania or some say Asia

She seems like a gold digger [ever notice that in hollywood a villain in movies has to be russian or italian?] i have to comment to the people who said preston met her in russia: Preston met her in nice,france on a topless beach (which i have been to nice and other towns across the french coastline multiple times and yes, girls do go topless on some of the beaches and men run around in their speedos)-- not in russia. to be quite frank, i'm surprised he didn't meet her in amsterdam in the red light district. anyways, lynette does seem paranoid [technically, she's pregnant in the episode too-- so maybe those motherly hormones are acting up too?] but things happen (didn't 20-20 do a special on mail-order russian brides?) i dont know how the plot will go with this but the moment during the show he came back from europe, i wasn't surprised where the story line was going. Ta-da! He brings home a girl destined to be his bride! like pulling a white rabbit from a top hat!

In my opinion, Lynette is really right and I think that girl is going to get Preston into really big trouble. I can't believe Gaby told Angie's mother's neighboursa bout Fairview, I think they will be coming over...Danny and Ana just weren't ment to be, so it's okay. I'm glade Katherine found someone she never had a real someone in the show, now she has Robin.

I dont think Andrew will kill his brother. I actually think that Andrew will be insecure, as he always is, but will eventually establish a pretty good relationship with his brother. I think for a while its going to be a fight for mamas attention and who runs the company better. There is no doubt that Angie will be found, but either her husband will be hurt from the confrontation or nothing will happen except for her maybe scaring that guy off or killing him and danny finding out the truth or nearly finding out the truth. I am happy that Katherine found herself a woman, and she is hot! I am wondering when Mike and Susan will have some real drama back in their life. Its kinda boring on their end!

I completely agree with lynette. At first, I didn't agree with her, his fiancee seemed just like a beautiful woman out of his league but as the episode progressed I started to agree with lynette more and more. That look she gave lynette when she gave the ring back and when she said that she knew exactly how much it costed (or something like that) convinced me that she is not just with Preston for love. Lynette always seems to be right about these things, even though she is paranoid A LOT!

This woman is using Preston to get her way into America, plus financial support through his parents. Lynette is right, but how the Scavos got out of poverty, with a son traveling through Europe, buying expensive boots and clothing a gold digger is a mystery. Lynette should tell the newly engaged couple that since they are engaged, Preston no longer can claim funds for his college, he should start finding job and his fiancee too, so she can support him through college (and Lynette should mean it). This will surely put a dump on this woman. And cut Preston's credit card.

yes! Lynette knows her son is making a huge mistake, He doesn't love her, he is in love w/ her looks, and she is in love w/ him buying her things. She obviously is a gold digger, and yes Tom needs to take this a little more seriously and talk to his son, and stop having Lynette do all of the parenting, and making her the bad guy all the time.

I think that she was right, I mean I don't think that Irena's a full on gold digger, but she's headed in the right direction. Personally, the NYC trip was a good idea, but it didn't seem so housewivesy. My favorite line,which accompanied my fave storyline, was when Susan said to MJ, "Daddy may have turned a lady into a leprechaun." She's my fave housewife!!

i think this is the best season of DH in forever, i love bree's character, she is amazing and loving the new plot line with rex having a son before they married, i think they should have went full on scandal and had rex cheated and had the kid will in wed lock, either way im excited to see where this goes, what i didnt get is why is bree's son so against this kid? he doesnt know he's rex's son, hey the 2 of them would make a cute couple tho

Anyone who saw what Lynette did would have every reason to question Irina's motives. Gold digger in disguise? Seems pretty blatant to me-what disguise? Tom on the other hand has his head up his butt (as usual) and wants to high five Preston for getting a girl out of his league and sneak looks at topless pictures of her.
