The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened
Season 5 | Episode 513 | Aired 01/17/2009
Neighborhood handyman Eli Scruggs dies of a sudden heart attack on top of Susan's roof and the women of Wisteria Lane take the time to remember and recount how much he meant to them.
Eli helped Gabrielle make friends on Wisteria Lane by suggesting she host the weekly poker party. Of course, she made a lousy first impression by boasting about her days as a model. Eli advised her to "drop the attitude." She apologized to the other housewives for starting off on the wrong foot: "What I should have said was, 'My husband's never home. I'm lonely all the time and I could really use some friends.'"
