The Ties that Bind
Bree tells her friends she can't fall apart after Rex's death, as she has to deal with his emotional mother, Phyllis, who wants him to be buried in a ridiculously ugly prep school tie. At the funeral, Bree sees that Rex is wearing the dreaded prep school tie and not the Ralph Lauren tie she picked out. "Do NOT close that coffin!" she orders and, in full view of the entire church, demands Tom's tie. She props up Rex's body so she can put Tom's tie on her dearly departed, and now very well-dressed, hubby. Think Tom will want the orange tie?
