Gaby and Carlos engaged in a long battle of deceptions when we first met them. She was having an affair with John the gardener and he replaced her birth control pills with sugar ones in a desperate attempt to start a family. Carlos eventually served some time in prison for a hate crime that was actually a misguided attempt to beat up the guy who was sleeping with his wife. Assets were frozen, credit cards were canceled, secret Cayman Islands accounts were uncovered and much more. Eventually, Carlos rips up a post-nup that would have canceled out their pre-nup. Later, Gaby learns she's pregnant and she's not sure if the father is Carlos or John. She testifies that her hubby in not a "serial gay-basher." But things unravel quickly when Carlos attacks John in the courtroom.
