Lynette hired former four-star restaurant chef Rick Coletti to help her run things at the pizzeria while Tom was out of commission with a hernia. The guy really cooked in the kitchen, and not always with food. He had more than a professional interest in Lynette, who didn't seem to mind their intimate late dinners. Nothing ever happened between these two, but it did lead to some trouble in the Scavo marriage. A spat over the Rick situation ultimately led the discovery that Lynette had lymphoma.
