Bourbon BBQ Sauce

Sauce Ingredients:

1 Tbsp. olive oil

2 bunches green onion, chopped

1 large onion, chopped

½ Tbsp. chopped garlic

2 cups brown sugar

1 cup ketchup

1 small can tomato paste

1 cup Dijon mustard

1 cup water

½ cup Worcester sauce

½ cup apple cider vinegar

½ cup apple juice

1 large dried ancho chili, seeded & cut in small pieces

1 Tbsp. ground cumin

1 ½ cups bourbon



  1. Heat oil in heavy pot over medium heat
  2. Add onion and garlic, sauté 10 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and simmer one hour.


Can be made ahead. Cover and refrigerate up to 2 weeks.


Serving size: 1 Tbsp.
