There’s no doubt Galavant’s Madalena (Mallory Jansen) is the queen of many hearts; she’s charms Galavant (Joshua Sasse), seduces the Jester (Ben Presley), and captivates King Richard (Timothy Omundson) so much that he kidnaps her in order to marry her!
But when it comes to the queen’s own heart, she only has one true love: herself.
In Galavant’s “Dungeons and Dragon Lady” episode, the feisty royal is annoyed when an earnest Galavant confesses his undying love for her. Rather than swoon, she lets him know she only loves him as much as someone like her can love anyone. Translation: she only appreciates how good he makes her look, as well as his availability for the occasional romp in the bedroom (even if she thinks he’s only so-so in the love-making department).
Song: I Love You ...|Madalena loves Galavant... well, in a way.|Madalena (Mallory Jansen) loves Galavant (Joshua Sasse), well, as much as someone like her can love anyone. From Episode 6 of Galavant, "Dungeons and Dragon Lady" on ABC.
And while the queen would probably be the first to admit she needs her boy toys to fulfill certain romantic needs, when it comes to everything else, she can only rely on herself. The proof? In “Completely Mad…Alena,” she goes as far as serenading herself with a love song, belting out her best qualities, from her ability to rule as a queen to her talents at rocking a push-up bra.
