A who man jumped in front of a bus to save a woman he didn't even know is brought into Seattle Grace. His injuries are so severe that he’s unidentifiable. He’s dubbed “John Doe.” The woman he rescued, who wouldn’t give him the time of day before, now thinks she may have found true love. She won’t leave his side.

Owen and Cristina decide to meet halfway in their relationship. Bailey also has a relationship decision to make. Her husband will divorce her if she accepts a prestigious pediatrics fellowship. She asks the Chief if she can return to general surgery. She’s turning down the fellowship not because of her husband’s ultimatum, but because she’s going to need time to be a single mom.
