Character 101: Jackson Avery

By Erica Brown | Dec 20th, 2014

Today we have Grey's Anatomy's Dr. Jackson Avery on the brain. Can you blame us? We first met this easy-on-the-eyes doc during Season 6 when Seattle Grace and Mercy West merged. Jackson quickly proved himself as an asset — something that didn't sit well with some of the Seattle Grace surgeons. Watch the video above to see what we mean.

It's Gettin' Hot in Here: He may be medical royalty, but instead of relying on the fact that he’s Harper Avery’s grandson, Jackson has found his own success by being a dedicated, brilliant and heroic surgeon. He even risked his life once to save a young girl trapped in a bus. When it exploded, everyone feared the worst for Jackson — especially April.

I Object!: On the day of April's wedding to Matthew, Jackson stood up mid-ceremony and declared his love for the bride. The only person more surprised than Matthew and Stephanie? April. (Spoiler Alert: She loved Jackson, too!)
