Season 1:

- The night before her first day at her new job, Meredith has a one-night stand. This fling turns out to be Derek Shepherd, her boss and (unbeknownst to her at the time) future husband.

- Meredith befriends her future BFF, Cristina Yang.

- George and Izzy move into Meredith's house. The first of many doctors that will rotate in and out of Casa de Grey.

- During her first year Meredith juggles living in the shadow of a famous parent, life as an intern, and dealing with the fact that her mother is in advanced stages of Alzheimer's.

- Against her better judgment, Meredith starts a secret relationship with Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd. Everything was going good until Addison, Derek's wife from NYC, pops back into the picture.
