When Owen boards a plane, everyone thinks he's going to see Cristina. He's not. Owen flies to farm country to ask April to return to the hospital. She belongs in Seattle saving lives. Cristina later lets Owen know that they can't keep chatting like old times. She's in Minnesota now. That's where she needs to move forward. Owen hasn't been sleeping at all. That's why he opts to spend the night at Derek's trailer gazing up at the heavens. Perhaps he can take comfort in the fact that at least he's under the same starry sky as Cristina.

Owen says the new head of cardio, Jeff Russell, pushed to get his wife back to Seattle. Cristina must act fast when Dr. Russell's post-op patient starts coughing up blood. Owen is ticked that she operated on someone else's patient. He thinks the new cardio guy may fire her. The opposite happens. Dr. Russell thanks Cristina for making a good save. He now knows why Owen pushed so hard to get her in there. And now Cristina knows the truth about how she got her job back.

The hospital's lawyers are looking to make Owen the scapegoat for the plane crash that killed or injured his friends. He signed off on the switch to the airline that they used without knowing they had a history of mechanical problems. Owen realizes he's being manipulated by all parties as they are hoping a judge will throw out the case due to his conflict of interest regarding Cristina, who looks like she's going to muster up the courage to tell Owen she wants him back. This never happens. Before she can say anything, Owen lets her know that he thinks they should get a divorce.

Owen lets Cristina know that the divorce papers are all ready. All they have to do is sign. Cristina is shocked when Mer spills the news that they have a better case regarding the lawsuit now that she's getting a divorce. This leads to some tense moments during a surgery with Owen. Afterwards, Cristina realizes that her husband blames himself for the plane crash. She lets him know that this wasn't his fault. She also lets him know that she wants him back. This leads to a passionate kiss. We'll see what happens next with these two.
