Owen moved out of his and Cristina's apartment. Between the stress at work and at home, Owen needed a little space. Owen and Cristina were still married though. They began couple's therapy to try and salvage their badly damaged relationship. The therapy clearly wasn't really helping because Owen was still hurt and deep-down, all he really wanted was to hurt Cristina. That was the motivating factor behind his infidelity. One night, Owen met a random woman at a bar and did what no married man should do. He wasn't attracted to this woman necessarily; he wanted to do something to hurt Cristina as deeply as she hurt him. After this, Owen was pretty much at his lowest point, but things started to turn for the better. Teddy ultimately decided Henry's death wasn't Owen's fault. She realized Owen was letting her use him as a punching bag because that's what Teddy needed and she was his friend.
