Enter Teddy Altman. Teddy is a former Army colleague of Owen and the new cardio attending as a "gift" for Cristina from Owen. Cristina is unimpressed with Teddy at first but is soon won over. It turns out Teddy has feelings for Owen. Cristina suspects that Owen reciprocates those feelings too. All is revealed and when Cristina is given the choice of Teddy, with her brilliant skills, or Owen, her bodyfriend (and future husband). Initially she chooses surgery (Teddy), but soon after tells Teddy she didn't mean it and suggests they both forget about it.
