How to Get Away With Murder Recap: Details About Annalise’s Past Revealed

Welcome to the How to Get Away with Murder Recap of Season 2 Episode 11, "She Hates Us" (Original Airdate Thursday, February 18, 2016).  Tensions in the Keating household run high, as each student struggles in their own way trying to return to normalcy. In a flashback, we’ll learn new details about Annalise’s past.

Wes is Held Under Observation
Wes has been having trouble sleeping since the night he shot Annalise.  He visits the doctor to get a prescription for sleeping pills.  When the doctor turns him away, Wes mentions that he's contemplating suicide which places him into observation for 120 hours.  Laurel tries to get Annalise to help get Wes out but Annalise thinks he's better off under observation.  Laurel keeps the secret of Wes' whereabouts to herself until Annalise tries to puts her students into an awkward position while defending a murderer.  Watch Annalise's walk out while Annalise tries to get them to focus on the case.

 


Annalise Will Not Let Her Client Be Tried for the Death Penalty
Annalise makes her return to the courtroom this week.  The case should have been an easy hearing with her client accepting a plea deal with the prosecution.  The victim's mother asks for a restorative justice hearing.  At the restoratative justice hearing, Annalise's client reveals that he murdered the victim instead of accidentally firing his gun.  After the hearing, the prosecutor asks that the charges be raised to capital murder.  Watch Annalise plead for her client's life in the clip below.

 


The Keating 5’s Group Therapy Session
Right as Wes' classmates threaten the hospital to release Wes, he emerges into the waiting area ready to go home.  Connor questions Wes about what he told the doctors at the hospital.  Everyone's biggest fear is that he told the hospital about the murders.  Wes assures them that he only talked about his childhood.  The Keating 5 realize they can only rely on each other and Annalise is not someone to be trusted.

Laurel Wants to Know What Frank is Hiding
Laurel can't stand the fact that Frank had told her that she wouldn't like to know the "bad things" he's done.  After telling Frank that Wes was the one that shot Annalise, Laurel doesn't want to keep any secrets from Frank.  She wants to know what he's keeping from her.  Before she leaves his apartment, Frank reveals that he's the one that killed Lila Stangard.
