Didn't I Kill You Not Too Long Ago?
Knowing what Ben will become, Jack refuses to try to save his life. Kate knows what he'll become, too. But she can't watch as a young boy dies. Her solution: Take him to the Others. Richard Alpert agrees to help Ben. But by doing so, Ben will lose all memory of these events and his childhood innocence will be gone forever. Kate and Sawyer agree to the terms. As you may have guessed, Ben lives. We know this, because we see him wake up in 2007 with John Locke standing over him.
