5 Reasons You'll Get Hooked on Marvel's Agent Carter

By Lisa Weseman | Dec 18th, 2014

Marvel's Agent Carter premieres TUESDAY JAN 6 8|7c and you absolutely, positively don't want to miss it! Here are the top 5 reasons you're going to get hooked on this hot new show.

1) Hayley Atwell

From the moment we saw Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter in Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger, we knew she was a star. She's a stunning big-screen beauty, but she also brings a natural authority to taking down the bad guys. She shines with style, wit, and loads of charm — not to mention that perfectly posh accent.

2) Marvel Magic

The creative minds at Marvel continue Peggy's story in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers/Captain America. Peggy works for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), which savvy Marvel fans know is the predecessor to S.H.I.E.L.D. Even more Marvel-ous? Louis D'Esposito, the director of Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter, also helmed the premiere episode of Marvel's Agent Carter, "Now Is Not the End."

3) It's Action-Packed

Though the story is set in the past, there's nothing old-fashioned about it. Peggy uses her considerable skills as a spy to go on secret missions for Howard Stark, taking down a lot of bad guys along the way. Think Alias meets Indiana Jones. Sounds pretty awesome, right? It is.

4) Crackling Wit

Posh accent and impeccible manners notwithstanding, Peggy Carter knows how to land a zinger. When a man dismissively asks her first name, she simply says, "Agent." And her sparring with Stark's butler Jarvis crackles with dry wit.

5) It's Super Stylish

Despite being a no-nonsense agent, Peggy Carter exudes glamour, from her 1940s pin curls to that chic red fedora. Costume Designer Giovanna Ottobre-Melton created a stunning wardrobe of looks for Peggy ranging from smart business suits for the office to elegant evening gowns for undercover assignments.

Get hooked on Marvel's Agent Carter from the start! Tune in to the 2 hour-premiere TUESDAY JAN 6 8|7c on ABC.
