May Returns

Well, kind of. Agent Melinda May visits S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ to speak with Director Phil Coulson. She warns him that Agent Lance Hunter's mission to find Grant Ward has gotten him in over his head, and it might require backup from the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s agents

Coulson takes the opportunity to try to convince May to come back to the fold, but she won't. Coulson thinks it's because her ex, Dr. Andrew Garner, is working with S.H.I.E.L.D. May assures him that's not the case, though it's clear the she still cares for her ex, despite their split.

Lash Strikes Again

S.H.I.E.L.D. partners up with ATCU to hunt down a man who has the ability to track Inhumans, albeit in a pretty unfortunate manner -- his skin breaks out into a painful, blistering rash when they're near. Agent Daisy Johnson and Agent Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie ride with ATCU as they transport him back to the ATCU facility. But soon a hole is torn through the roof of the van -- Lash is here:

Daisy, Mack and the ATCU agents try to fight him off, but the van overturns during the struggle. Lash escapes the scene, but as he does, Daisy discovers a crucial piece of evidence: Lash can morph into human form.

Hunter Gets Reckless -- But Who Pays the Price?

Hunter's latest plan to infiltrate Hydra has him going into their HQ essentially solo. He got in, but was quickly put in a situation where he would have to be face to face with Ward -- who obviously recognized him. A shootout quickly ensued, with May running in for backup. Soon Hunter and May cornered Grant Ward and his Hydra cronies -- but Ward has an ace up his sleeve:

He shows May footage of her ex, Dr. Andrew Garner, and Ward explains that Werner Von Strucker and some more Hydra soldiers are watching him at this very moment, waiting to kill him. Hunter says he's bluffing. Would May and Hunter have to give up their shot at Ward to save Dr. Garner? And would Hunter even let her make the decision anyway? Ward makes a break for it, and Hunter shoots him once in the back as Ward makes his escape, but Hunter isn't able to finish him off.

Next we see a body lying dead in the store where Dr. Garner was standing. Von Strucker runs out of the store, and it explodes in a giant fireball. Was Dr. Garner the body? What will May do when she finds out? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and tune in next week!
