FINALLY. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is back, and we've got your Season 3 premiere recap! The Season 2 finale left us with a lot of questions and storylines that we’re excited to dig into this year. And it sure looks like the writers and producers over at Marvel felt the same, because the Season 3 premiere started off with a bang.

The First Five Minutes of the Season 3 Premiere:

In the wake of Terrigen crystals being dumped into the ocean -- and therefore our food and products like fish oil -- more Inhumans are being revealed. A man known only as "Joey" seems to be capable of melting metals. He's chased down by a mysterious team bent on capturing him before Agent Daisy Johnson, Agent “Mack” Mackenzie, and Agent Lance Hunter intervene.

After the assault is launched to capture Joey by an outside organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. knows that someone else is trying to get to Inhumans. Who are they? And what are their goals? Director Phil Coulson and Daisy do their best to answer those questions:

Regardless of the larger battle over Inhumans taking place, the fact remains that Joey -- who is also now in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s control -- is still, well, a person. And now he’s facing a life-altering change upon discovering his new powers. Daisy, an Inhuman herself, knows a little something about having your life changed forever, so she breaks the news to Joey about what his new life will look like:

Meanwhile, Agent Leo Fitz has been searching for more information on the monolith that swallowed Agent Jemma Simmons. He's tracked a key piece of information to an extremist group that doesn't look eager to make a deal. Once he gets them to agree to the deal, they take his only bargaining chip and prepare to kill him:

Fitz of course, already had an escape plan. And he also admits that he loves Simmons.

Coulson, with Hunter at his side, tracks down the leader of the group that’s been hunting Inhumans -- her name is Rosalind Price. They’ve both been researching each other, but Price wants to know why S.H.I.E.L.D. has been killing Inhumans. That, of course, is news to Coulson -- because he’s helping to protect Inhumans.

While Daisy and Mack are trying to convince Lincoln Campbell to return to the fold at S.H.I.E.L.D., they come face to face with a mysterious new foe: Lash. Could he be the one who has been killing Inhumans?

After Lash slips away, everyone returns to HQ. Fitz returns from the field with the scroll that will help him find Simmons. When the scroll doesn't contain the answer that Fitz hoped it would, Coulson says Fitz has to accept that Simmons is gone. But Fitz isn't quite ready, and vents his frustration on the monolith that swallowed her:

But then, at the very, very end of the episode, we find that Simmons is indeed still alive, and clearly on a planet that is not Earth. So where is she? And is she safe? All questions for another day, friends. We’ll see you next week!
