Reality Beyond Fantasy…

Growing up I distracted myself from my everyday boring life by studying the world beyond our eyes, science. It totally provided escapism from the mundane, predictable every day. Exploring the unknown fueled my imagination. Eventually proving a hypothesis became my version of winning the big game.

Limited by my belief of reality, I always dreamt that the most magical thing that could happen in my life would be running my own lab. I'd have the option of diving deeper into any topic of my choice – with the board's approval, of course. After years of supporting Dr. Powell, I'd someday have a mini-me by my side! However, when Dr. Powell's studies recently turned to humans with super abilities – it opened my eyes to the fact that sometimes life holds excitement for us we couldn't possibly have planned.

Global Tech offered me my own lab today at twenty-eight years old! That had always seemed like an almost unattainable dream to me, sort of like marrying the prince. To make the decision even more difficult my wonderful boyfriend promised to start a life with me where ever I chose leaving me completely on my own to make the decision: take the job, go to Miami with my boyfriend and live the American dream or stay here and live a life bigger than I ever dreamt possible?

Instead of following the predictable path, I decided to take a risk and stay in Pacific Bay. This is the place I'm able to do what I do best – explore the unknown. I mean how many people can say they get to study the unknown origins of their boss's super powers every day?
